Cantamth 2020

 Kia Ora,

This term the Hillay Hub have been doing Cantamath. We had a mininum of two projects and I made a static model (didn't move) and a game that I made with Simon. I had a really fun time while I was making them and I can't wait till we do it again. Sadly we couldn't go to Cantamath this year because of Covid-19, but we are doing a mini one at school. Here are some photos.

My Third Blog for this Term

 Kia Ora,

This is my third blog for this term so far Simon and I are getting closer to finihing our project. I have done quite alot on my solo project and hopefully it will be finished soon and before camp happens. I've had a really fun time making my project since I was allowed to spray paint it.

This is my second blog for term 3 and now we are doing cantamath. I am doing a music sheet for my solo static model and Simon and I are making a game together which is coming along well. I haven't started my solo static model but i will tonight.

My first blog of term 3

 Kia Ora,

This is my first post for term 3 so i guess it means I haven't posted in ages. Some exciting news that i got this morning was that I am going to a football tournament next week on tuesday which I have mixed feelings about. I'm happy that i gt to play more football but I'm sad because I don't get to go to tech and keep on making my teddy bear. I am sort of behind a few other students anyway so im gonna be quite behind.

My Poem

Kia Ora,

Recently we have been working on our figurative language. To help this we have been doing poetry which I reallly like to do. My favourite poem that I wrote was y personification one which I am going to show.

The trees whispered tales of treasure

Much more than a pirate's pleasure 

They whispered great tales 

Much bigger than whales

Just to trick you into a drink

And this drink will make you think

Of going on these adventures

For all of those treasures

But the treasure will only exist

If you run into the dark mist

And the more you run

The more fun it will become

But the more see 

The more you want to flee

The closer you come

More serious than fun

But when you find the cluster

You will be gone in a muster

Then the trees will whisper tales of treasure

That are much more than a pirate's pleasure

My Week

My week.

Kia Ora,

This week I started to do a puppet show group with my drama teacher it is on tuesdays every week for a few weeks. we have had to make our own puppets name, personality, its voice and just everything about it. we had to practise making sure it looks lke its breathing so it didn't "die", and we had to make sure we knew where it was looking at all times. overall it has been real fun.

The Map Makers Race, My thoughts

Kia Ora,

In the Hillary Hub we have been reading a book called The Mapmakers Race. The story is about a family of explorers and their dad went missing on a trip for his work that inolves exploring. The family then went bankrupt and weren't doing to good so their mum signed them up for the Mapmakers Race.

When they were going to head off to the starting place of the race when Joe got off the train and their mum went looking for him. Joe got back and their mum still wasn't their they tried to get everything off the train before it started but they had to get back on because they would lose all of their stuff if they didn't.

They got to to the starting place meet a kid called beckett and the story just folds out. My thoughts on this book are is that it is a good book for people that like to read even if you don't like reading that much it is still a good book.

My week

Kia Ora,

This week I have done a few different things. This weekend my brother, mother and I played tennis aswell as this week. There was one trouble though, when we got to the place we wanted to play tennis there were already people there both times so we went home and went back in half an hour.

When we went back the in the weekend there was no-one there so we had a hit around. the second time we wanted to play two days ago there were some Kids just running round on the court which was annoying. So we went to a different court this one was where my Mum hit the ball into my gut.

I also did a les mills work out with Mum. We did the body combat one. So my week was pretty good.

Learnng Online

Kia Ora,

This week in lockdown I have been doing Drama classes online everyday at 1pm. They have been about making our own kooky characters and making up their likes, dislikes and something strange that they are famous for. When it was all put together it was called the Kooky Character Talk Show.

Learning online is very different to what i am used to.

This week wasn't that exciting for me because we really didn't do that much exciting stuff. Lawn bowls was cool with all of the tasks that we got to do. One of them was really fun you had to roll the bowl into one of these holes and if it was further back you got more points. Here's a photo of the first week we did it.

2020 So far for me

Kia Ora,

This year hasn't been the bees knees for me but that doesn't mean it hasn't for you. This year I'm having to do alot of things that will get us ready for highschool. The teachers are just easing us in to all the work.

One thing in this that has been good is the softball that we have just finished today. But the first two sessions were pretty boring cause I knew everything that was going on with the throwing and catching. The last two were better because we got to hit the ball round. The last day we played some teeball.

Another thing that was alright was the chapter challenge that we had to do . The book was the mapmakers Race. some of the tasks were boring, but others were interesting. Here is one of my favousite tasks the boater hat I made.

So far the year has been alright for me with just easing in to the new work load. but hopefully the rest of the year goes better with the Coronavirus out break and all the other bad and exciting thing that might happen this year.
