Spaghetti and Marshmellow Structure

Kia Ora,

Today we made structures out of spaghetti and a marshmellow. We could use sellotape and string to make it stand up striaght. We had to make it stand up with the marshmellow at the top without us touching it.  We did not do that good we tried to make it like the Ei
fal Tower but it collpsed with the weight of the marshmellow. The good thing that happened was that it was stable without the marshmellow.

My 3D DiamondI made in maths

Kia Ora,

Today I will be showing you my quadrilateral based diamond that I made in maths with toothpicks and bluetack. Here is the photo of my finished quadrilateral based diamond.

The way to make is

  1.  Get toothpicks and bluetack
  2. Make a 2D square base together with bluetack
  3.  Make two toothpicks coming together from two corners and then connectthem by bluetack
  4. Do the same with the other two corners
  5. Do the same on the bottom

Isaac Healy and I worked together and named our plants, Ginger warrior Mark 1, Ginger warrior Mark 2, Ginger warrior Mark 3 and Ginger warrior Mark 4. It's an inside joke that we have been doing for ages. We also found some glass, china and rocks.

This is my P.M.I for the week hope you enjoy

Our Production

Kia Ora,

Thursday this week we did our production twice. It was called Goodbye My Friend. We did a matinee performance and a night performance. I was the leader in my dance so I had to lead my line onto the stage and Liam lead the other line. I mucked up on one of the actions I jumped one chorus forward and Luke did the exact same thing. After that I had to get changed into my greys because I had a speaking part and I was a kid at school watching violent movies.
In the end I had a great time.

The first day we learnt all about the road rules inside of school mostly on our bikes. In school we learnt about main roadand side road rules.

who goes first when going straight left and right. We also learnt about the round about rule the simplest of all, always give way to your right. then in the afternoon we went outside of school.

The Korfball session

Kia Ora

This week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had korfball sessions with a man calld Youri and on the last day a man called Torston. They taught us how to play korfball. The game is basiclly netball combined with basketball. You can shoot from anywhere and once you caught the ball you can only move one foot. And you can pivet out of being defended by stepping one step away from the defender then it is easier to pass or shoot. If someone is marking you within arms length you can not shoot you either have to pass or pivet out. Here is a picture.

Week 8 learn NZ webinar

Kia Ora

  • There is water very, very, very, very, very, very deep under ground it's called fossil water and  NZ doesn't have any
  • I also learnt that you can turn saltwater into freshwater
  • And that they use special sorts of plants to take care of rivers by keeping the soil out of the water and removing excess nutrients in the water.

Thursday Urban-Eel Trip

Kia Ora

On Thursday we had to walk all the way to the heathcote river for the Urban-Eel project. Matt, Bridget and Toni were the organisers of this and were the ones teaching us. My favourite part was when we could touch the eels. The way to tell long fin from short fin is by when the bend if the have wrinkles they are long fin if not short fin. You can also tell the gender because the females are fatter then the males becausen they need to lay eggs. Heres a picture
