My week Highlights

This week we had Wednesdsy off because the teachers went on strike. I sat at home for a long time until we went to the mall to buy some movie tickets to watch the incredibles 2 . before the moie we went to Typo and we got me a hammer pen. In the end the movie was good. On Thursday we had a Mass of the Assumption. When we went to sports we versed Redcliffs and we won 5-0 and we won the competition. It is Friday and we have cantamaths so I hope my team does well. We also have assembly and I hope Francis wins the house points.

 Last week we did cantamath and my team came third. Cantamaths is an event where you have to write an answer on a sheet of paper and if you get it correct you move on to the next question. This week I finished my information report on Howler monkeys and I liked finding the info and writing the report. On Thursday we did winter sport and my team won  6 to 3 against St Francis. Today is cantamath and I'm so excited I hope we do well. In the end we came fourth.

On Tuesday 31st of July my hockey team the Quick sticks went to zones for winter sport. We had eight 10 minute games and one break. We tied two, lost three and won three. In the end we tied fifth with Oaklands school.

Today is Friday 3 of August and we had a red and black day in support of the Crusaders game on Saturday vs the Lions !GO CRUSADERS! I wore my Dad's red and black hat that can cover my whole face.

And tonight is the school disco everybody is sooo excited. It is going to be so awesome and I'm getting a five dollar treat bag.

My recount on the Ferrymead trip

MY Recount on the Ferrymead

Trip
On Tuesday 24th we went to Ferrymead to learn about the
1950’s. One of my favourite places we went to was the school.

We went to the school after we had made some scones.
When got to the school we learnt about the cane,
strap and the ruler. We then did a role-play and we had to
act out the 1950’s school and our teacher was Mr.Brown.
We played tag outside until Mr.Brown rang the bell
for us to line up.There was a nature table that Mr.Brown
talked about and we were taught spelling, maths and we
even did a worksheet.

We were taught the way people were taught in the 1950’s.

I really liked the trip to Ferrymead and I want to go back
sometime again.

This week we have started reading the Explorer by Katherine Rundell. It is about a bunch of kids on a plane flying to the amazon jungle but as they were flying the pilot died. so the characters are Fred, Lila, Max and Con.

 Here's my chapter chat question and answer.Q. The author writes that Fred tries to banish "The shipwreck roaring in his ears." When she was explaining he couldn't hear or see a single human. What do you think she means. A.  He was trying to block out all of the noise of the flames from the explosion 

 From what I've read so far the story's good.

Chemical Reactions

What you need

3 small containers
 ¼ teaspoon Baking soda (colourful)
Vinegar
¼ teaspoon Washing powder
A piece of paper

1.Place your three containers on the piece of paper on a table
Put a ¼  of a teaspoon of baking soda in two containers
Put a ¼ of a teaspoon of washing in the one that has nothing 
Put a capful of vinegar in each one.
Watch the reaction.
